Gen Zs Terrorise Bishop who Received a Sh 20m Donation from President Ruto, Demands he Returns the Money

Bishop Edward Mwai who received a Sh 20million donation from President Ruto and a promise of another Sh 100million has thrown away his telephone of 15 years after receiving more than 5,000 insults from angry Kenyan youths.

The youths popularly known as Gen Z have “greeted” the Bishop Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministries, Roysambu and his wife and are mobilising to occupy his church on Sunday unless he returns the donation given last Sunday when he hosted Ruto.

Speaking after the aftermath, Bishop Mwai said he has abandoned his beloved telephone line of 15 years after he received more than 5,000 “greetings” from Gen Z who have described the donation as proceeds of crime and should be returned.

Mwai who now claims the President did not give him any money despite the public announcement says mostly calls were from angry youth demanding answers on a Sh20 million donation by President Ruto which jammed his handset.

His wife, Agnes, hasn’t been spared abusive messages either, but the cleric insists the President never left him any money. According to Mwai, furious youth believe he received the cash and should have rejected President’s donation.

The youths have continued to mobilise with the aim of occupying the church located at Roysambu, oppositive the Thika Road Mall (TRM) off the Thika Superhighway.

They say the donation by the President was slap on the face of Kenyans who are facing serious challenges with many governments’ institutions like SHA and higher education funds not working.

And the youths plan to swamp the church four Kenyans have written to Bishop Mwai asking him to surrender the money given by the President to the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC) saying they believe the money is proceeds of crime.
