Allegations against me are baseless malicious lies, joke of the year – DP Rigathi Gachagua

A tough talking Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has trashed the allegations against him as cheap malicious lies based on rumours and heresay.

Gachagua who vowed not to resign but instead fight to the bitter end said the allegations are embarrassing, outrageous, laughable and a heap of trash.

He said had the mover MP Mwengi Mutuse of Kibwezi West taken time to do the motion, he would have realised the allegations were pure lies with no basis.

The DP pointed an accusing finger at his boss whom he accused of political deceit, conmanship and betrayal for using and dumping him.

Gachagua in an address to the Nation from his official residence at Karen said the properties he is being accused of belong to his late brother.

He said neither him nor his sons have done any business with the government and challenged the MP to table evidence.

Gachagua said Parliament will be the theatre of the absurd as it is forced to discuss a trashy motion he described the joke of the year.

Aiming low blows to his boss President Ruto, a bitter DP dismissed the impeachment motion as a product of political deceit, conmanship and evil betrayal.

He said the allegations do not reveal any crime committed and that his apology to the President was in no way an admission of guilt of the ridiculous motion.

Gachagua hinted that he will be shifting his defence to the courts should both houses go ahead and impeach him over such flimsy excuses.

He said MPs were under extreme pressure to sign the motion even before reading it.

He wondered how Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina could have signed the motion where one of the allegations was that a farm he sold to him (DP) many years back complete with a sale’s agreement was acquired from proceeds of corruption.

He said he has no intention of resigning and that he has been working hard and been loyal to the President.

Gachagua laughed off accusations that his fight against illicit brews was undermining devolution saying he has held meetings with nearly all governors and agreed on the plan of action.

He said that is one of the most successful programs and if the MPs
