Kenya Railways delivers a 300t cargo to KEL Chemicals in Thika as services improve

Kenya Railways opened a new chapter after it delivered a 300 tonne cargo to a manufacturer in Thika town for the first time in 19 years.


The cargo delivered to KEL Chemicals Ltd, a subsidiary of Dawa Life Sciences Pvt Ltd in Thika was a welcome relief to manufacturers as Kenya Railways continues to improve its transport services.


The cargo was received at Kel Chemicals Ltd by Dawa Group’s Planning Manager Harrison Ng’ang’a, CEO & Head of Strategy Arjun Mohindra, COO Rushab Shah.


Others were Kel Plant Manager Chimurar Chandraban, Logistics Manager Ms.Neena Shah, Procurement Manager Amos Ochieng and KR representative Ms Carol Nduta.


“We endeavor to provide efficient and reliable services for all our customers. Thank you for choosing to travel with us,’ said Nduta.

President Uhuru has started an ambitious plan to revive and revitalise the railway transport in the country with significant resources going to the rehabilitation of the metre gauge railway.


This has seen passenger and cargo trains start making regular trips from Nairobi to Nanyuki after the rehabilitation of the railway life. Many other such projects are underway across the country.
