President Ruto gets a new Aide-De-Camp, one inherited from Uhuru dropped.

Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga from the Army is the new bodyguard or Aide- De- Camp(ADC) for President William Ruto.

He takes over the reins from Brigadier Timothy Stelu Lekolool from the Kenya Navy who has been posted to the Department of Defense Headquarters.

Lekolool who had served President Uhuru for several years was increasingly looking out of place leading to Kenyans on social media to question why he was being retained.

They argued that the work ethic and lifestyles of President Ruto and his predecessor President Uhuru were completely different putting Lekolool odd at ease.

The new ADC accompanied Ruto to Nyeri today, where he attended the funeral of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s brother who died last week.

The new guard will be assisted by Lieutenant Colonel Damaris Agnetta also from the Army.

She replaces Racheal Nduta Kamui who has been promoted to full Colonel and posted to the headquarters of the Department of Defense.

Colonel Lengusuranga graduated in 1999 and is an experienced military officer who has served as the commander in chief of the Special Forces.

Agnetta graduated in 2003 and has the United Nations peacekeeping force and has served in the United Nations Observer Mission.

According to the Defense Council, such changes are made from time to time due to the career development of officers.

The appointment of the ADC is usually made after consultation with the National Defense Council.

The length of time an ADC serves depends on a number of factors, including age, but most serve for three years.

Brig. Lekolool was one of the three ADCs who served President Uhuru Kenyatta for 10 years before retiring and was the first ADC selected from the Navy.

Lekolool was Uhuru’s ADC until September 13, when William Ruto was sworn in.
