Monster traffic jam on Kiambu Road leaves thousands stranded for hours, others cursing

A monster traffic jam was witnessed on the busy Kiambu Road on Tuesday morning leaving thousands of commuters stranded for hours on end.

It took vehicles more than three hours to get to the City Centre with many calling for the expansion of the road that serves posh estates like Runda, Muthaiga North, Garden Estate all the way to Kiambu town in Kiambu County.

Kenyans took to social media to complain about the situation while others cursed for missed appointments, getting late for work and some to their businesses.

Cheeky Kenyans however took the opportunity to add salt to the injury by reminding commuters especially from Kiambu that they had opposed the expansion of roads when they derided retired President Uhuru that they “do not eat roads.”

Uhuru had prioritized infrastructural development with roads construction and expansion being part of it but was heavily criticized for it as people complained that they had no money in the pockets.

The commuters and Kiambu residents now want the road to be expanded as a matter of urgency saying it is a nightmare both morning and evening all the way to Thindigua as harsh reality hits them.
