Murang’a Woman Rep Betty Maina heavily attacked for asking Kikuyu women to give birth to more children

Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina has been dismissed as selfish and retrogressive for asking Kikuyu women to give birth to many children to create a bigger voting machine.

Betty who rose to fame for coining anti-Uhuru Kenyatta songs ahead of the 2022 general elections was on vernacular radio station Inooro FM where she asked Kikuyu women to give birth to many kids so that they can have enough votes win the presidency again.

Angry and disgusted listeners immediately dismissed her selfish saying instead of concentrating on issue that are currently facing the people she was only talking about political survival.

“This is a sad day, that all an elected leader can talk about is giving birth to increase the voting machine. She should be dealing with issues like the collapse of the education system, the health crisis and general increase in poverty, not telling more women to give birth to more kids,” said an angry netizen.

Another Kenyan described the sentiments as retrogressive and hypocritical saying ordinary Kenyans do not care who is in power as long as they get services.

Former Gatundu North MP Wanjiku Kibe also called out Betty saying it was very selfish and that people should be let to decide how many children they want to have.

“This thing of us politicians asking people to give birth to many children for the sake of more votes, is not only a tired line, but also very selfish in my view,” said the former legislator.

Betty has asked Kikuyu women to give birth to more children saying that currently other tribes have more children that the people from Mt Kenya.
