A group of Italian professionals are in Kenya in a mission focussed on exploring promising opportunities for collaboration for significantly enhancing skills mobility and creating additional jobs in Kenya.
They are seeking a bilateral labour and talent mobility agreement that would ensure Kenyans access Italian jobs, professional development and upkskilling.
It would also allow Kenyans to access the Italian, European Union (EU) market for SMEs and professional services.
The other benefit is the mutual recognition of professional qualifications and prior learning among others.
The professionals from Conprofessioni led by Alessandro Cianfrone, Luigi Carunchio and Hez Gikang’a met Shadrack Mwadime, the Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development in Nairobi.
The meeting focused on exploring promising opportunities for collaboration aimed at significantly enhancing skills mobility and creating additional job opportunities for Kenyans.
“These partnerships are not merely theoretical; they signify a concrete commitment to unlocking new avenues for professional growth and facilitating international labour mobility,” said Hez Gikang’a.
PS Mwandime noted that by joining forces, Kenya seeks to make a meaningful impact on its talented workforce, ensuring that individuals are well-equipped to thrive in an increasingly globalized job market.
Mr. Mwandime expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this collaboration, highlighting the positive changes it could bring to communities and the economy at large.
“Together, we can build a brighter future for all Kenyans,” he stated, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in fostering professional development and economic growth.
He said the commitment to enhancing skills mobility and job creation remains a priority, promising a brighter outlook for Kenya’s workforce in the global arena.
