Gathoni Wamuchomba ready to dump DP Ruto with a single call from President Uhuru

Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wamuchomba has sensationally claimed that a single call from President Uhuru would make her dump Deputy President William Ruto and the tanga tanga group like a hot potato.

In statement that caused a big commotion in Ruto’s tanga tanga political ragtag group, Gathoni said even if she was seated at Ruto’s Karen office, she would immediately leave if the President called her.

Gathoni said she still loves and respects the president claiming that it was the president who abandoned her.

“If he (Uhuru) picked his phone and called to ask for me, I would rise up immediately and go even though I was sitting at DP’s home. I would go because we love him (Uhuru). We respect him, he is our President. He is the one who abandoned us,’’ said Gathoni.

Gathoni joined Ruto’s tanga tanga group a few days to the Kiambaa by-elections but has since gone mute until on Tuesday morning when she released the bombshell.

Her statement led to credence allegations that most of the Central Kenya MPs in DP Ruto’s camp were not genuinely there but were using it as carrot and to attract attention from President Uhuru.

Some political pundits said all the Central Kenya tanga tanga followers would abandon the DP at the slightest opportunity and were only there for their own personal interests.

Gathoni’s remarks points to a big turmoil that has faced the tanga tanga group following the public fall out between DP Ruto and his key supporters Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and former CS Mwangi Kiunjuri.

Kuria and Kiunjuri has differed with DP Ruto after he asked them to fold their parties and join the Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as ordinary members something they have flatly refused.

Speaking on Monday, Kuria and Kiunjuri said they will not be forced to disband their parties and that it is not a must they support DP in 2022 – a clear sign that the tanga tanga group was in deep trouble as politicians start organizing ahead of the next general elections.

Kuria, Kiunjuri of TSP and Martha Karua of Narc Kenya have started an initiative to unite Mt Kenya region outside of UDA, with the aim of forming a coalition that will front the interests of Mt Kenya when the next government is formed.

They have planned to include all party and community leaders from Mt Kenya and they claimed that their numbers are steadily growing.

This has effectively taken the wind out of the sails of UDA which they claim is becoming a hard sell in Mt Kenya region.
