Gachagua brutally attacks Sakaja, tells him to forget the Nairobi governor seat

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has renewed his war with Nairobi governor Johnstone Sakaja over the city traders.

An angry Gachagua told Sakaja to forget ever getting elected again in Nairobi, saying the 500,000 Mt Kenya votes will go elsewhere.

He accused Sakaja of waging a war against Nairobi traders and hawkers accusing the governor of huge betrayal against the people who elected him.

Gachagua regretted that they had made a mistake of electing Sakaja without “vetting” him only for him to turn out as a sellout.

He said Sakaja was playing “dirty politics” with hawkers and traders all calculated to endear them to President Ruto who has lost favour.

Gachagu at the same time asked the international community to put pressure on President Ruto to urgently constitute Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC.

He said Ruto and his government was going against the Kligler report that says the IEBC is supposed to be put in place two years to the general elections.

The former DP has criticised president Ruto allies for speaking recklessly about the elections pointing out that the talks are a scheme to rig the 2027 general elections.

He was speaking during a church service at AIPCA Dandora in Embakasi North Constituency, Nairobi County.

While pointing a finger at President Ruto for deliberately delaying the process of constitution of the commission, the former DP has asked the international community to intervene and put pressure on Ruto to ensure that the IEBC is put in place to kickstart the process of elections preparedness.

Gachagua has also hit out to the leaders who are asking the young people to respect them saying that they (politicians) have taught them the abusive language.

Directing the blame to Dadaab MP Farah Mall for his recent remarks to the young generation, Gachagua asked leaders to stop throwing unpalatable words to the public and respect them.

On utterances that would result in incitement being made by a section of the community in Lamu County, the former DP has said that the utterances which were made in the presence of a Cabinet Secretary would cause harm and ask his allied MPs to document all the utterances made and share with the International Criminal Court (ICC)

He has as well cautioned the Kenya Kwanza government that the route they are taking would result in them being charged to the ICC.

Gachagua was accompanied by a host of leaders from Nairobi County and beyond.
