Major boost for Jubilee’s candidate Kariri Njama as elders rally support for him

Jubilee Party Parliamentary candidate for Kiambaa Kariri Njama received a major boost after the Kikuyu Council of Elders (KCE) threw its weight behind him with barely 10 days to the by-election.

Led by their National Chairman Wachira Kiago, the influential elders started grassroots campaigns for the candidate who is seeking to replace former area MP Paul Koinange who died earlier in the year.

Kiago was joined by elders from the KCE Kiambaa sub-branch during the campaign meetings held in Kiambaa to drum up support for the ruling party candidate.

He said elders are in support of the Jubilee candidate because he was the best placed to deliver services to the residents and also because he belonged to the party where President Uhuru Kenyatta is the party leader.

Kiago said elders support President Uhuru wholeheartedly because he is their son and also because he is the leader and the spokesman of the community.

“We remain loyal to the President not only because of the exemplary development he has achieved but also because he is the party leader of Jubilee. We shall follow his guidance now and into the future,’’ said Kiago.

He said urged Kiambaa people not to elect an opposition MP saying even those promoting the other candidate were still paid up Jubilee members.

Kiago said the activities of tanga tanga MPs who are allied to the Deputy President William Ruto were not genuine but only interested in insulting and embarrassing President Uhuru at the every opportunity.

He told Kiambaa people that only an MP from the ruling party will be able to complete the projects started by the late Koinange within the one year left before the next general elections.

The elders said President Uhuru’s legacy is secure due to the many projects he has implemented especially in infrastructure, agriculture and ensuring political stability in the country through the Handshake.
