China issues a security warning to Chinese, says Kenya’s security has become uncertain

In an unprecedented move, China has warned her nationals in Kenya to pay close attention to their safety saying the country’s security has increasingly become uncertain.

“In recent times, as the global hot issues continue to heat up, Kenya’s domestic security situation has increasingly become uncertain, said the advisory issued today.

The advisory went on to say that the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Embassy in Kenya remind Chinese citizens in Kenya to pay close attention to the local social security situation.

The Chinese embassy asked its nationals to strengthen their own safety precautions, try to avoid going to areas where foreign tourists gather and crowded places and be cautious when going to border towns such as Mandera, Wajir, Lamu and even Garissa counties.

The Chinese were asked to call the Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Police promptly in case of any emergency.
