Human rights groups meet DCI to push for thorough investigations into extra-judicial killings

Delegates from civil rights groups in Kenya havr met the Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, amid shocking revelations of extra-judicial killings.

Led by Houghton Irungu, the Executive Director of Amnesty International Kenya and Peter Kiama, the Executive Director of Independent Medico Legal Unit, the team congratulated Mr Amin for his appointment.

The team expressed its readiness to partner with the directorate in the delivery of its mandate through ensuring professionalism, especially in safeguarding the fundamental rights and freedoms of suspects.

The DCI chief welcomed the representatives and reiterated that the Directorate would maintain an open door policy while working with all players towards providing a safe and secure environment for all Kenyans.

He also expressed his gratitude to the rights activists for the support that they accorded him during his stint as director of the Internal Affairs Unit.
