Raila overjoyed as he hosts Kikuyu elders for lunch.

ODM leader Raila Odinga hosted Gikuyu elders at his home where he asked Kenyans to embrace peace and love.

The elders were led by Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Mr Wachira Kiago and other national officials of the council, Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and former Gatanga MP Peter Keneth.

Raila said he enjoyed a thoughtful discussion with the elders including a conversation about moving the country forward not on the patchy path of tribal lines.

Speaking from Karen home in Nairobi, he said Kenyans must rise about fear and embrace love and peace

“We have been sold fear for decades, it is time that as a people and a nation we embraced love and peace. This is a journey we are embarking on, are you are will to join us as we sit down and talk candidly?,” he posed.

The elders had planned to host Raila in Nyeri earlier in the year but due the rising cases of Covid -19 and the ensuing health restrictions, the event was off to a later date.

The Nyeri event was to reciprocate an event where Raila hosted the elders in their thousands in his rural home in Bondo.
