Businesswoman and Kirinyaga Woman Rep aspirant Carolyne Karimi has joined the fight against proliferation of killer illicit brews.
Carolyne says the consumption of illicit brews has been complicated by many fake drinks that have not undergone any quality tests making their consumption lethal.
She noted the effects of widespread consumption of illicit brews were devastating and destroying not just the drinkers but also families.
She called for concerted efforts from all government agencies and the community to help eradicate the deadly drinks.
She said as mother she is deeply concerned by the high levels of addition and destruction of lives of youths in Kirinyaga.
She said while legitimate businesses need protection, distribution networks of the illicit brews and their outlets must be destroyed for sanity to be restored.
She said a healthier population means a faster rate of personal and community development and ultimately the nation.
