Cornelius Parsayo wins the second round of Avocado Golf Series tournament at Limuru Country Club

Cornelius Parsayo beat a large field of 218 golfers to emerge the winner of the second leg of the Avocado Golf Series Tournament held at the scenic Limuru Country Club in Kiambu County.

Playing off handicap 23, Parsayo scored 42 points to emerge the overall winner while the gross winner went to Francis Kimani playing of handicap 0 with 69 gross points.

Division A man winner went to Kagai Mwangi playing of handicap 24 and scoring 41 points while the prize for Division B winner went to Raphael Kuria with 48 points.

Joseph Choge scored the prestigious hole-in-one at hole 14 in the tournament sponsored by KCB Bank, Almar Containers, Faras, Avenews, Answerport Ltd, Ano Advocates, Siri Farm Fresh Ltd, Jaza Supermarket, Alba and Jos Hansen.

Valine Akoth playing of handicap 9 won scored 35 points to take home the Division A woman, Division B lady winner went to Ruth Mwaura with 44 points while Junior Winner was Mumbi Gatu playing off handicap 16 with 34 points.

The longest drive prize for men went to Court Land while the longest drive for ladies went to Valine Akoth and nearest to the pin winner was Anne Wanjama.

The coordinator of the Avocado Golf Series Tournament Philliph Mutooni said the third round of the series will be staged at Thika Sports Club on 7th June this year. The year opener for the series was held at Kenya Airforce Club in February this year.

He said the series is aimed at connecting agribusiness leaders, industry experts and golf lovers, business networking and celebration of the vibrant Kenya’s Avocado sector.
