BBI co-chair Dennis Waweru praises Raila Odinga for supporting increased revenue for Mt Kenya region

Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Secretariat Co-chair Dennis Waweru has praised ODM leader Raila Odinga for supporting increased revenue allocation for Mt Kenya region.


The former Dagoretti South MP said Raila had recognised that what Mt Kenya region needs most importantly is empowerment through increased revenue allocation. 


Waweru was speaking in Gatanga, Murang’a County where he joined other leaders who were attending musical extravaganza graced by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.


He said value addition through opening of factories as opposed to handouts was a practical way to create jobs and economic independence to Mt Kenya residents.


Waweru cautioned the people of Mt Kenya to be wary of liars and political con-men traversing the region.
He reminded Mt Kenya leaders that former Prime Minister supported the one man, one vote, one shilling revenue allocation which was to be a great economic boost to our people.

Waweru said by supporting increased revenue for Mt Kenya, it showed that he had the best interests for the region.
He reminded the artists and residents that during lockdown, President Uhuru Kenyatta allocated Sh100m to them which was was a great show of love.


Among the leaders present were county governors led by Mwangi wa Iria (Muranga), James Nyoro (Kiambu), Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia) Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), Anyang’ Nyongo’ and James Ongwae (Kisii). Also present were several MPs, MCAs, businesspeople among others.
