Orengo meets Gikuyu elders, says the handshake is strong

Siaya Senator James Orengo was on Thursday hosted for lunch by Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Wachira Kiago where they discussed how to deepen community relations.


The meeting at Homeland Hotel on Thika road was also attended by Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, KCE Secretary General Peter Munga the recent political developments in the country also featured prominently.


Kiago said the meeting was among the many that Gikuyu elders and leaders have been having with their equivalent from the Luo community whose aim is to improve relations for the sake of national unity.


He said they discussed issues to do with community relations, the handshake and the BBI.
Kiago said they observed that BBI and the handshake were very strong at the moment which was good for the country.


He said the overwhelming support the BBI got in the National Assembly and the Senate was enough evidence that the handshake was extremely strong. Orengo said he was happy to meet the elders and said it is his hope that unity of purpose will continue.
