Raila strikes, sends Otiende Amollo packing in BBI falling out

The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has kicked Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo out of a parliamentary committee over loyalty concerns.

Amollo a prominent Nairobi lawyer turned politician was accused of giving BBI – Raila’s pet project – lukewarm support leading to his quick ouster. He was immediately replaced at the Justice and Legal Committee by Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang.

At the weekend Amollo and Siaya Senator Peter Orengo were thrown out of a function by angry ODM supporters who accused them of showing disloyalty to Raila.

The two lawmakers had made comments that were understood to undermine BBI but Orengo moved quickly to issue a statement in support of BBI.

In ODM slight disloyalty to the party and the leader Raila is quickly punished as Amollo – a first time lawmaker has learnt.

President Uhuru and Raila are the partners in the handshake that gave birth to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) that has promoted a referendum Bill that is currently before the two houses of Parliament.

The two leaders have dealt firmly with dissent within their parties kicking out of position of leadership any MP or Senator opposed to BBI and Amollo is just another statistic in a political bloodbath that has been unleashed.
