Deputy headteacher arrested for defiling a class 7 pupil

Police have arrested a primary school deputy headteacher for allegedly defiling a Standard Seven pupil at Nandi Hills town, Nandi County.

The 41-year-old teacher and the pupil were taken for a medical examinations at Nandi Hills Sub-County Hospital.

Nandi Hills Sub-County Police Commander Francis Omulo confirmed the arrest, adding that the victim had locked the girl in one of the lodgings in the town

Assistant Chief of Kelbui sub-location reported that there was a school-going child who entered one lodging within Nandi Hills town.

Police officers went to the scene and found the two in room where it was established that the man was a primary school deputy headteacher in a neighbouring school and a primary school pupil aged 14 years.

He added that they were both arrested and taken to Nandi Hills Police Station awaiting medical examination and further police action.

 ”We are holding a teacher accused of locking a student in a lodging where we suspect to  she has been defiled,” he said

The pupil, who hails from Chebarus a neighbouring village in Tinderet, is suspected to have been lured by the teacher to meet him in the said private place

“We are set to arraign him in Kapsabet Law Courts once we are done with our investigations. Any act against a minor won’t be tolerated,” Omulo stated
