President William Ruto has appointed Emmanuel Talam as the Press Secretary, Presidential Communication Service (PCS).
In a dispatch from State House dated Monday, October 17, the President also appointed Reuben Maiyo as Private Secretary to the President, and George Ng’ong’a Macgoye as Chief of Staff to the Deputy President.
In the latest appointments, Paul Muraya Mwangi will be Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Private Secretary while Njeri Rugene will serve as the Head of Communication Services in the DP’s office.
“As set out in Executive Order No. 1 of 2022, on the Organization of Government of Kenya, the executive office of the President comprises the Office of the President, the Office of the Deputy President, and the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary In that regard, it is hereby noted that President William Ruto has today caused additional appointments within the ranks of the Executive Office of the President as follows,” read the statement in part.
Prior to his appointment, Talam served as the communications director in the Office of the Deputy President when Ruto held the position.
Maiyo, who was the Head of State’s private secretary when he was the DP was retained in the same position.
Gachagua’s new Chief of Staff is a former Senior Deputy Secretary at the National Youth Service (NYS) having been appointed in May 2015.
He is a a fomer deputy commandant of the Administration Police (AP) and serves as a deputy commissioner of the Kenya Prisons Service.
