Raila says he will not attend President-elect Ruto’s inauguration saying his election was not free and fair

“I regret that I will not be available for the inauguration because Iam out of the country and I also have other serious concerns,” said Raila in a statement.

Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate and the closest challenger to President -elect William Ruto, Raila Odinga has said he will not attend the inauguration because he believes that the August 8, presidential elections were rigged and that the Supreme Court also ignore serious facts and evidence from his side.

He said he believed that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) the body in-charge of our elections, did not conduct a free and fair election.

Raila further said he believes that the ruling by the Supreme Court was not based on the facts and the law, even though we accepted it.

“For these reasons, the outcome of the elections remains indeterminate,” declared Raila said he will announce the next course of action once he is back in the country.

He thanked supporters of Azimio La Umoja for turning out to vote in large numbers as he called for reforms of key institutions charged in advancing our democracy
