President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga expected in Nyeri this week to commission development projects

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga are expected in Nyeri County coming Sunday to popularise Azimio coalition ahead of General elections.

This was revealed by Jubilee Party leaders who continued with grassroots party activation forums that kicked off last week.

Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth hinted that they are organizing a tour by the President and Raila in Nyeri this weekend.

“We are planning to have the president visit here in Nyeri barely a week after his visit, we want him to come and witness the development projects in this region as well as talk to his people.” Said Kenneth.

While in Othaya constituency, the leaders promised to turn tides by undoing political gains claimed by Deputy President William Ruto and his UDA party in Mountain region.

The party Secretary General and Ndaragwa Mp Jeremiah Kioni said that many aspirants have already expressed interest in going for the Jubilee Party ticket, noting that all will be welcomed saying all democratic processes in picking right candidates will be followed.

“We have been sent here by Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of his political tour to tell the truth and help you make right decisions in the forthcoming general elections,”he said.

Kioni however urged people to evaluate and judge candidates with their scorecards saying that President Kenyatta who is seeking to guide his supporters to Azimio had already shared this.

The leadera present were Mps Gichuki Mugambi, Othaya, Kanini Kega, Kieni, Ngunjiri Wambugu, Nyeri town, Antony Kiai, Mukurwe-ini, Jude Njomo and a host of MCAs.

During the meeting, Hon. Kanini who who was recently elected as JP Director of Elections vowed to do anything possible to insulate President Uhuru Kenyatta from political insults in his Mount Kenya backyard sanctioned by his DP William Ruto.

His remarks were echoed by Ngunjiri and Njomo who said that political tolerance is crucial but they will not allow the same to be mistaken with fear when people go round indulting specific leaders.
