Nairobi County gubernatorial aspirant Agnes Kagure praises the Handshake for economic and political stability

Nairobi City County gubernatorial candidate Agnes Kagure has showered President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga for their Handshake which brought about economic and political stability.

Speaking when she met grassroots leaders from the County where she presented them with Christmas gifts, Kagure said the development being witnessed currently is only possible due to the Handshake.

She thanked the two leaders for showing statesmanship by coming together for the sake of the country – demonstrating that Kenya and her people were more important.

“As we celebrate and share our Christmas blessings with those around us, we must appreciate the business friendly environment that the peace deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and PM Raila Odinga has afforded us, and the associated benefits. Looking forward to a more peaceful and productive New Year ahead,” she said.

Kagure said Christmas was best celebrated with others and that she was happy for the opportunity to present gifts with a section of women and looked forward to meeting more groups.

“What a blessing to break pre-Christmas bread with various delegations of women leaders from County 047 as we deliberate on the ending year’s challenges and successes and how we can make the best of the new year. Surely, better days await us ahead. Merry Christmas,” she said.

Kagure said Nairobi needs a governor with proven business and leadership experience, and keen on creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and one that will attract more investors.

She further said for Nairobi to be at par with other fast-developing cities, we must enhance collaboration with Kenyans in the diaspora and tap into their networks, experiences, and successes.

Kagure said Kenyans in the diaspora are setting new records every day and putting Kenya’s name on the global map and that more collaborations with them will see Nairobi and Kenya go far and high.

She made the remarks when she presented an outstanding achiever’s award to Ms Elizabeth Kang’ethe, who she described as a patriot doing Kenya proud in London.
