Faithfuls celebrated wildly after President Ruto donated Sh million to Jesus Winner Church in Roysambu, Nairobi and promised a further Sh 100million to a construction project by the same church.
The congregation led by their leader Bishop Mwai burst into song and dance and chants of Ruto! Ruto! Ruto! praising the president after he made the donations and later defended his actions saying he was giving to God and that he was a product of giving.
Ruto who has faced harsh criticism over his huge contributions to churches including receiving refunds said he would continue to dish out money to shame his critics.
Mainstream Churches, the Catholic and Anglican Churches have banned those contributions and even refunded previous donations, but some other churches have continued to host him and receive millions in donations.
Ruto has despite heavy criticism of donating millions to churches maintained his commitment to the donations telling the congregation that he would call a harambee to raise another Sh 100 million to build the church sending the faithful into a celebration frenzy.
