Prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir declares 2022 a contest between Raila and Ruto

Prominent Nairobi lawyer Donald Kipkorir has declared that only ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto are the serious contenders for the presidential elections in 2022.

Kipkorir avers that only the former PM Raila and DP Ruto have the national support, infrastructure and wherewithal to mount a presidential campaign next year.

He dismissed all the other prospective candidates saying they do not have support outside their villages and must be humble enough to accept any position gifted to them.

“For 2022 Presidential Elections, only two candidates that is PM Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto have the national support, infrastructure and wherewithal,’’ said Kipkorir.

He added, ‘other prospective candidates do not have support outside their villages and must be humble enough to accept any position gifted to them.’’

The statement is likely to anger several candidates including NASA alliance Principal Kalonzo Musyoka who has declared that he will go for the presidency and will not support Raila again.

Another NASA principal and former vice president Musalia Mudavadi’s supporters want him to the presidential flag bearer for the coalition.

From the Mt Kenya region, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has also declared that he will vie for presidency and has mounted a visible campaign that saw him being crowned as the region’s spokesman.

Yesterday, Muturi was endorsed by a group of church leaders, where he declared he is soldiering on with his campaigns, adding that he was more than qualified for the job.

And billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi who has been operating in the background has also declared that he will be on the presidential ballot on an ODM party ticket.
