Big boost for tourism as Kenya Airways launches inaugural Mombasa-Dubai flights

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has flagged off the first Mombasa-Dubai flight by Kenya airways – a big boost to tourism and business.

Gachagua described it as a great moment for Kenya as the inaugural flight by National Carrier, Kenya Airways, to Dubai from the city of Mombasa takes to the skies.

He said the flight marks yet another dynamic that will go a long way to sustain millions of jobs from the tourism sector in the Coast region.

The DP noted that by connecting the Kenyan Coast to the Middle East directly, the travel time is effectively reduced, thereby making Kenya the most attractive destination for the Middle East holiday seekers.

He was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Onesimus Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, and Wildlife Ms. Penina Malonza and Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.

Others were Gideon Mung’aro, Andrew Mwadime – Governor of Taita Taveta County and Josephat Kombo, Deputy Governor Kwale County, a host of MPs and other political leaders.
