SBM Bank (K) kicks off bold expansion to Central Kenya with a first branch in Nanyuki

A delegation from the SBM Bank (Kenya) has paid a courtesy call to Nyeri governor Mutahi !Kahiga and announced plans to expand to Central Kenya region.

The team leader Mr Mwaniki Mwariri said SPM Bank (K) will first establish its first regional bank in Nanyuki before moving to other key towns.

He was accompanied by Jedidiah Kabiru, the Head of Corporate and Government Institutions.

The bank also expressed its interest in partnering with Nyeri County to support the business community and collaborate on impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Kahiga welcomed SBM Bank’s confidence in Nyeri and looked forward to a mutually beneficial partnership and assigned officers to work with the bank to move the discussions forward.

Founded in 1973 in Mauritius, SBM Group is headquartered in Port Louis and has grown into a regional financial institution with operations in Mauritius, Kenya, Madagascar, and India. In Kenya, the bank currently operates 33 branches across three regions.

Also present during the meeting were County Secretary Edward Irungu, Chief of Staff Paul Wambugu, and Political Advisor Washington Kariuki.

Sally Mirie (Relationship Manager) and Fred Onyango (Consumer Banking) round up the SBM team present.
