Student Pilot Killed as Light Aircraft Crashes and burst into flames, in Voi

A student pilot aged 20 has died after a light training aircraft he was flying crashed at Ikanga in Voi Sub-County and burst into flames

Authorities said the pilot who was the only person on board perished on the spot on impact that led to extensive destruction of the aircraft.

Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud bang that was heard from the scene followed by flames and rushed to spot to try and rescue any survivors.

They said the aircraft was coming from Malindi and attempted to land at Ikanga Airstrip but tragically crashed just a few metres away, resulting in a fire

A team of Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) dispatched to the Scene to establish the root-course of the accident. The deceased body is being preserved at Moi County Referral Hospital Voi.
