Rigathi Gachagua Wave Sweeps Mt Kenya as residents humiliate leaders opposed to the former DP

Limuru MP Chege Kiragu was rescued from an angry crowd baying for his blood in Kiambu while in Chinga, Othaya, Nyeri residents walked out on their MCA Kiruga Thuku as political tensions over the impeachment of former DP Rigathi Gachagua continues to rise.

A swift action by his bodyguards saved MP Kiragu from a crowd that was going after him accusing him of organising the fracas that saw former DP Gachagua escape injuries by a whisker.

During the fracas two weeks ago, Gachagua’s vehicle was pelted with stones and plastic chairs causing extensive injuries and it was a miracle that the former DP was not injured going by the extent of the damage caused to the vehicle.

Gachagua was driven out of the venue in a hurry after hired goods stopped former area MP Mwathi from addressing the crowd before all hell broke loose.

And yesterday Kiragu returned to the same homestead to replace the chairs that were destroyed in the fracas but was later confronted by angry residents who blamed him for the violence meted on the former DP who was unable to address the mourners.

And in Nyeri’s Chinga ward in Othaya constituency, outspoken MCA Kiruga Thuku found himself isolated after residents who were attending a meeting declined to be addressed by him and walked out before the meeting could end.

They accused Kiruga of being part of the leaders in Mt Kenya who have been fighting the former DP and who supported his impeachment.

The residents said they have no time to listen to sell outs who have betrayed Gachagua and the rest of Mt Kenya residents as the political fallout over the Gachagua impeachment continues to reverberate in the region.
