Njuguna’s, the popular Nyama Choma joint in Westlands has closed down for four months to undergo major and trendy revonations.
Assuring the patrons that the famous joint has not closed forever the proprietor Macharia Njuguna – a son to the founder said the eatery will be back bigger and better.
Speaking to News Today as workers carted away furniture and other items, Macharia said they are going to mordenise the joint that has been in operations for close to 50 years.
Macharia said they are building a modern eatery that will have more space, more comfortable and better looking.
Njuguna’s faithful patrons had cried out on social media after reports of its closure emerged.
The joint was started by Joseph Njuguna Macharia five decades ago. He died in August 2015.
Njuguna’s initial plan was to provide a nyama choma joint for soldiers in the neighbouring military camp but the tasty delicacy became a major attraction.
The joint became a major meeting point for who is who in Kenya including big name politicians.
After his death the joint is being ran by his son Macharia – the brainchild of the planned upgrade.
