DP Rigathi Gachagua comes to the aid of ailing Mukami Kimathi wife of freedom hero Dedan Kimathi

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come to the aid of ailing Mukami Kimathi who is detained at a city hospital over failure to pay the hospital bills.

The aged wife of freedom hero Dedan Kimathi who has a street named after him in Nairobi is unable to leave hospital due to a bill running over a million shillings.

Mukami and her family have cried out for help saying they are unable to raise the required funds.

Gachagua – the selfstyled son of Mau Mau – said he was saddened that Mukami, the wife of the hero of our freedom struggle Field Marshal Dedan Kimathi Wachiuri, has been ill and admitted at a Hospital in Nairobi.

He said the matter was brought to my attention yesterday while on a working tour in Nyanza with H.E President William Ruto.

“In this regard, I have tasked Embakasi Central MP Hon. Benjamin Gathiru a.k.a Major Donk to look into her situation urgently,” Gachagua said.

He said on his return to Nairobi he will make time to visit “our mother to check on her progress and assess possible interventions to make her life more comfortable.”
