Kenyans caught off-guard by lockdown

Thousands of Kenyans were caught offguard when President Uhuru announced an indefinate lockdown in five counties due to rising Covid-19 deaths and spread.

There were traffic jams on roads leading in or out of affected counties as Kenyans tried to beat the lockdown deadline that was to take effect midnight on Friday 26.3.21

Others turned to social media to express their frustration saying they should have been given a warning to enable them make appropriate adjustments.

A twitter user explained how he had arrived in Bondo and was having lunch when President Uhuru announced the lockdown. 

The man in question was forced to immediately start another journey back to Nairobi. He  was to return in Nairobi on Sunday after the work assignment.

The lockdown has affected Nairobi, Nakuru, Kiambu, Kajiado and Machakos.
