Nairobi City County governor Johnson Sakaja unveils his Cabinet of 10

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has finally named his cabinet of 10 members.

Sakaja has sent home all the ministers who served in the previous administration of his predecessor Anne Kananu, except two.

Nairobi County has 10 ministerial vacancies, among them is one in charge of the Departments of Finance and Economy.

Others are Health, ICT and E-government, Decentralization, Environment and Water, Agriculture, Trade, Roads and Transport, Education and Departments of Land and Housing .

Sakaja at the same time has made changes in those ministries.

While inaugurating the cabinet, the City boss named; Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Planning), Brian Mulama (Talents, skills, development and care) and Patrick Mbogo (mobility and work.)

Other are former Lands minister Stephen Mwangi (Building and urban planning), Ibrahim Auma (Administration and workforce), Rosemary Kariuki (Hustler and business opportunities)

Maureen Njeri was named in the Green Nairobi docket, Anastacia Mutethia to Health, Welfare and Nutrition while Susan Silantoi will oversee Integration, Public Engagement and Customer Service.

Sakaja also named David Njoroge as his Chief of Staff, Lawrence Wambua as his Economic Affairs Adviser and Elias Mutuma (Legal Adviser),

Dr. Samora Otieno was named Health Advisor, William Ndung’u ‘Fazul’, Political Advisor and Prof. Washington Yotto Ochieng as his Migration Adviser.

The nominees will be presented to the Nairobi County Assembly for review and approval.

The list of nominees was submitted to the Speaker of the County Assembly in a letter dated October 26, 2022.

“The team has been carefully selected and is capable,” Sakaja said.
