President Ruto’s strict work ethic and punctuality leaves bureaucrats and hosts playing catch up

Not used to state officers arriving on time, government bureaucrats and hosts are getting caught unawares by President William Ruto who is showing up in functions as early as 30mins before time.

On Wednesday morning he was at Serena Hotel at 9:05am for an event organized by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) which was to start at 9:30am while last week he arrived 20 minutes earlier at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) surprising his hosts including the chairman Kiprono Kittony.

Apart from strictly observing time, the President is also holding many events in a single day as he moves to consolidate power and craft his government.

On Tuesday President Ruto had two events outside State House and several others inside and is holding late evening meetings with Ambassadors of various countries.

“This is completely different from what we are used to. The President’s ability to keep time and arriving earlier to events is very impressive. He is setting a good temple for his government. Very impressive,” said a host.

Addressing the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) on Wednesday morning President Ruto gave a glimpse on his work ethic when he declared that he was not a lazy person and that he would work hard to ensure his economic vision of the country is realized.

He challenged the manufacturers to work hard and unlock billions of shillings in manufacturing by adding value to products. He said his government will do all that it can to support manufacturers.
