President William Ruto has assured Kenyans that his administration will deliver the country from the current economic doldrums .
Speaking when he attended burial of Jack Reriani, the elder brother to his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, at Hiriga village in Mathira, Ruto said that despite inheriting an economy in shambles he is equal to task to lead this nation to greater economic heights.
“As your president I want to assure Kenyans that following peaceful polls that defined our political maturity as a nation, I will not let you down infact we have a plan and once our cabinet ministers are confirmed they know what to do ” said Ruto.
The president said that among the first thing they will do as a government is to curb wastage which will see over 300 million saved to take care of essential services .
“We have formulated a plan where we will do away with wasteful spending on all areas this will enable us to safe a lot for this nation, we know we have a hard time but we are equal to task” said Ruto.
The president who was accompanied by host of ministers took to task leaders who are elected saying that why must deliver for Kenyans who expressed confidence in their promises.
“When we were seeking votes we promised a lot to the voters we go seats we wanted know the question is what will the public get in return we must deliver all our promises” said Ruto.
The president said that among the issues that must be fulfilled is adding value to tea and coffee, creation of jobs for the youths and growth of SMEs.
However before he could speak a woman caused security scare after she sprung and demanded to talk to the president.
The woman who identity is yet to be know forced Ruto to tell his charges to go slow saying that she would be helped.
“It’s okay huyo mama tutamusaidia, wacha aongee na Rachel she will be helped ” said Ruto.
Rigathi on his part thanked Mt Kenya voters for doing the community proud by voting for Ruto with zeal.
“You the people of Mt Kenya you do not know what you did for our community, the doubting Thomas had said that you cannot vote in someone who is not from the community. You have proved them wrong we have gained respect for next 200 years as a community ” said Gachagua.
Leaders present urged the elctrorate to be patient saying that the country will realize it’s economic dreams.
