Charles Obonyo wins Captain’s Prize at Thika Greens Golf Resort.

Charles Obonyo beat a field of more than 200 golfers to win the Captain’s Prize tournamnet at Thika Greens Golf Resort on Saturday.

Obonyo playing off handicap 23 scored 45 points to lift the winner’s trophy. He home club is Machakos Golf Club.

Benard Oketch playing handicap 9 scored 79 gross points to emerge the gross winner.

The men winner trophy went to James Mworia playing off handicap 27 after scoring 43 points. Men runners up went to J k Maina with 43 points with a handicap of 22.

Lady winner went to Anne Gathua with a score of 44 points playing off handicap 34 followed by Valine Aketch who scored 39 points playing off handicap 19.

It was a day of competitive golf organised by Thika Greens Golf Resort captain Henry Kinyua that saw golfer from around the country take part.

The well sponsored event saw Simba Colt motors offer a brand new pickup for the golfer who would score a hole-in-one – a feat none of the golfers achieved.

Other sponsors were Elgon Kenya, Corteva, Yara East Africa, Kingdom Bank and Amica.
