Azimio La Umoja politicians have asked Speaker Justin Muturi to resign for betraying President Uhuru Kenyatta and joining DP Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance

Legislators allied to Azimio la Umoja have called on the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to tender his resignation following his joining the Kenya Kwanza Alliance over the weekend.

The leaders who were speaking in Tetu constituency in Nyeri County where they attended a burial ceremony, the leaders led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega have said there is no way the speaker can remain non partisan when he is already affiliated to one political side.

Kega who is Mp for Kieni has said that it is hypocritical for Muturi not to resign as the speaker as he will not be non partisan as he has already indicated where his support is.

“If he has concious, he should just step aside to allow for a person who is non partisan,a person who is not aligned to one side. It is hypocritical for the speaker to continue presiding as a speaker of the national assembly whereas he has already indicated on which side he is. He should resign or else we take remedial measures.” Said Kega.

On his part Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina said Muturi already tendered his resignation the moment he signed the coalition agreement with Kenya kwanza.

Muranga Woman Representative Sabina Chege echoed similar sentiments urging the speaker to resign willingly as they have no remaining time to impeach him.

We know where speaker came from, he failed on a parliamentary seat, the president made him the third most powerful man in kenya and he has seen the most honourable thing to do is to go to that other side. We live him to God. We have no time to impeach him as we have bills to pass. He should resign and he does not, we just live him to God. ” she said.
