Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga has termed the frequent power blackouts at JKIA as a national shame that must be brought to an end.

Kahiga asked President Ruto to fire Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Roads Kipchumba Murkomen saying he was a hig embarassment

Kahiga clarified that he did not call for the sacking of Cabinet Secretary for Energy Davis Chirchir saying he was with him at the airport when the blackout ocurred.

“I maintain is that power failure in JKIA is a national embarrassment. I have asked HE the President to sack the CS concerned with Airports. All Cabinet secretaries letting down the President must be shown the door,” said Kahiga.

During my Jamhuri Day speech, I reminded all and sundry that it cannot be business as usual if the President is in office at 6am and doesn’t leave till midnight while the CSs he has given jobs continue letting him down! I still maintain this same stand!
