New KCC eulogizes former chairman the late Matu Wamae as a great champion for dairy farmers

The New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (New KCC) has described its former chairman the late Matu Wamae as a mentor and great champion for Kenya’s dairy farmers.

In statement by board chairman Anthony Mutugi, New KCC said they remember Wamae for his diligence, hard work and passion for the Dairy Industry.

“As we celebrate and honor the life of our former Chairman the late Hon. Matu Wamae, EBS. We remember him for all his diligence, hard work and passion for the Dairy Industry,” said Mutugi.

He added, “He was a true mentor and champion for the Dairy Farmers. His contribution and legacy in the Dairy Industry will continue to impact, inspire and guide those who follow in his footsteps for generations to come.”

Mutugi was joined by New KCC Board Members, Farmer Representatives and Managing Director Nixon Sigey during a visit to condole with family of their late chairman.

”thoughts and prayers are with the Family during this difficult time of grief. Safiri Salama Chairman. Rest in Peace,” said Mutugi.

Wamae is credited to reviving a dead KCC to vibrancy and to profit becoming a darling of farmers who had suffered under the Kanu misrule that had killed institutions among them the KCC.

He became a central figure in the dairy industry where he served as chairman for 15 years leaving a solid legacy behind.
