Coffee farmers receive Sh 125m from coffee cherry fund in the last 7 days

Coffee farmers from 11 counties have received a total of Sh 125 million over the last 7 days from the Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund.

Nyeri County received the highest disbursement with Sh 70 million with 3,000 farmers benefitting, according to the latest update.

The Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund Disbursement is disbursed by the New KPCU on behalf of the government.

The report indicates that from 9th to 16th September 2024, New KPCU successfully disbursed Ksh. 125,231,503 to 9,011 coffee farmers across 11 counties, including Baringo, Bungoma, Embu, Kericho, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Machakos, Meru, Trans Nzoia, and Nyeri.

Nyeri County saw the highest disbursement, with 3,007 farmers receiving Ksh. 70,089,880 in cherry advances. These funds were allocated to both small-holder coffee estates and individual coffee growers.

Barichu FCS (Nyeri) and Kunyak FCS (Kericho) emerged as top beneficiaries, receiving Ksh. 65,310,430 and Ksh. 10,887,329, respectively.
