Kalle Rovanpera, the Finnish rally sensation wins WRC Safari Rally

President Ruto invites the Private Sector to play a greater role in the management of the WRC Safari Rally to explore more untapped opportunities.

Kalle Rovanperä, the Finnish rally sensation, clinched his second Safari Rally Kenya victory in the FIA World Rally Championship.

Despite challenging conditions—ranging from dry and dusty to wet and muddy—Rovanperä maintained a clean run.

His lead extended to an impressive 2 minutes and 8.2 seconds, leaving drivers like Thierry Neuville, Elfyn Evans, and Takamoto Katsuta trailing behind due to significant setbacks.

Rovanperä’s cautious approach near Lake Elementeita secured his position, while Neuville’s fuel system issue hindered his challenge.

Adrien Fourmaux secured third place, and Sunday’s finale promises more action across Lake Naivasha.

While presenting the awards to the winners, President Ruto invited the private sector to play a greater role in the management of the WRC Safari Rally and explore untapped opportunities.

He said the participation of the private sector will not only ensure that the event is cost-effective but also enhance the overall experience, making it truly magical.

He spoke duuring the closing ceremony of the 2024 WRC Safari Rally at the Hell’s Gate, Nakuru County.

President Ruto congratulated Kalle Rovanpera of Toyota Gazoo Racing for emerging victorious in the competitive race.
