Kindiki says no more violent protests will be allowed anywhere in Kenya

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure has warned that no more violent protests will be allowed anywhere in Kenya.

I a terse statement issued this evening, Kindiki said the current image of anarchy and the unfolding criminal madness must stop.

Kindiki said with or without notices, demonstrations and protests of any type which injure people, security officers, businesses and property shall be prevented at all costs

He warned that if the current lawlessness is allowed to continue, it will set back the country.

“The current portrait of anarchy, and the unfolding criminal madness must stop. Only firm enforcement of the law stands between us and lawlessness and full-blown chaos. Any aggravation of the prevailing situation would certainly set back the Country. We must halt the descent,” said Kindiki.

His statement came ahead of mass action planned for Thursday by Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga setting the stage for a confrontation between protestors and police.

Similar demonstrations were staged on Monday that saw violent clash between police and looters and a serious escalation of violence.

It also saw goons raid the farm of retired President Uhuru at Nairobi’s Eastern bypass where livestock was stolen and trees cut down.
