DP Gachagua says government will heavily crash cartels in coffee and tea sectors

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has blamed cartels for the collapse of the coffee sector and vowed to deal with them ruthlessly.

He said cartels in the coffee and tea industries have continued to impoverish farmers.

Gachagua said that brokers should be ready to leave both the sectors saying President Ruto and himself had no conflict of interest in the sectors.

“I want to send this message to brokers we are not conflicted we know you enjoyed state protection from the previous regimes and that is why you have been milking farmers dry enjoying their sweat but you days are numbered ” said Gachagua.

He made the remarks when he attended the burial of former Mathira MP Matu Wamae at Giakaibei village.

Gachagu said they will not allow brokers to continue to exploit farmers.

Gachagua assured Mt Kenya leaders that the region will not be neglected and will benefit from the Ruto administration.

“Those thinking that the region will be neglected are wrong we will benefit immensely from this goverment more position are going to be dished out ” said Gachagua.
