Former CS Mwangi Kiunjuri warns DP Ruto that he is far away from winning Mt Kenya voters

Former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has hit out at the Deputy President William Ruto for behaving as if he had already won Mt Kenya voters warning him that he has a long way to go.

Kiunjuri who is also The Service Party (TSP) leader told Ruto to prepare for a bruising battle and extremely bad weather cold as snow as he prepares to climb Mt Kenya.

Kiunjuri urged Ruto to embrace other parties and individuals of interest, if he intends to win the Mt. Kenya block in the next general elections and avoid the lone ranger tactics.

Speaking during a Sunday service at Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) St. Andrews Church in Nanyuki town, Kiunjuri warned that it is too early for Ruto to assume that he has won the vote rich region, adding that the best strategy to apply for now is to gather leaders and political parties from the region.

‘’It is too early to say that you have scaled the mountain. The mountain is so high, there is also ice up there. The weather can be very rough. And therefore, it is good to keep owing people but don’t think you have succeeded.’’ Kiunjuri said

Kiunjuri said that he is not ready to fold his party for any other formation, although he remains open for coalitions should there be need to.

‘’ Iam not very stupid to have TSP, this will enable the region to have a bargaining power when it comes to demand a fair share’’ Kiunjuri said.

The TSP leader was reacting to a statement issued by tanga tanga allied MPS who said that the mountain will negotiate on the framework of Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and not any other formations

Kiunjuri has fallen out with Ruto after the DP insisted that he must fold his party (TSP) and join UDA as an ordinary member.

Kiunjuri who has been a leading light of tangatanga and a key supporter of Ruto flatly declined and instead started a caucus to unite Mt Kenya whose members include Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and leader of Chama Cha Kazi and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.

Kuria has also flatly declined to fold his party and accused Ruto of trying to take back Kenya to the dark days of single party Kanu rule.
