Man kills his 22-year-old girlfriend over alleged infidelity

A 28-year-old man  has stabbed his 22-year-old girlfriend to death over infidelity in Rabango, Siaya county.

Confirming the incident, Siaya OCPD Benedict Mwagangi stated that the two who had rented a house in the outskirts of the town not so long ago.

He said an argument  between the two escalated into a physical altercation that saw the suspect stab the deceased to death.

The neighbours were unable to help the deceased due to heavy downpour during the night and they could not hear the screams from the deceased.

Police recovered a blood-stained knife and blood-stained clothes. Items recovered have been secured as exhibit as investigations into the murder commence.

“The knife and blood-stained clothes were recovered from the house and have been secured as exhibit as investigations into the murder commence,” Mwagangi said.

 Parents and family members of the deceased expressed sadness and shock at the news of their daughter’s demise.

“I can’t believe that my daughter whom we have sacrificed a lot in order to take her to school is the person lying dead at the mortuary with deep cuts on the neck, wrists, hands and throat,” the father said.

The police boss decried the rising cases of homicide in the region and equally advocated for mental health programs to help salvage the situation.

He further urged couples to seek guidance whenever disputes emerge instead of resorting to violence

Mwagangi stated that the suspect who had gone missing after the incident surrendered at the Siaya police station where he is currently being held.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Siaya county referral mortuary.
