Ship carrying 10,000 tonnes of GMO maize docks at the port of Mombasa

African Merlin ship that is carrying 10,000 tonnes of maize has just arrived at the port of Mombasa.

The Bahamas Registered Vessel left the Port of Beira, Mozambique on 17th of November; that’s last week.

The Vessel had early left Kandla, India on 7th of October destined to Mozambique where it docked.

And the arrival of the ship has caused anger with farmers from maize growing counties calling for the sacking of Trade CS Moses Kuria.

They read a sinister motive of government to import maize just when farming are harvesting saying it will depress the prices and kill the farmers.
