Media council slams Journalist Shaffie Weru

Media Council of Kenya has waded into the storm sparked by off by firing of celebrity radio presenter Shaffie Weru.

In a statement, chairman of MCK David Omwoyo said they flagged off the contentious content as soon as it was aired during their regular media monitoring.

Omwoyo was quick to commend Homeboyz radio for the the action they took afterwards.

He said MCK had noted the apology Homeboyz radio had made on its social media handles.

Omwoyo said Shaffie Weru and his colleagues had breached the code of conduct of practice of journalism and welcomed the sactioned metted by their employer.

MCK urged journalists to always remember to follow the code and urged media owners to continually train their personell to avoid such issues cropping up.
