Gachagua’s Fresh Claims that President Ruto Plans to fire 10PSs from Mt Kenya to accommodate Raila’s appointees

Former Deputy President turned chief opposition leader Rigathi Gachagua has hit out at President Ruto alleging that despite the millions of votes he got from Mt Kenya, he plans to fire up to ten permanent secretaries (PSs) from Mt Kenya.

Gachagua alleges that the plan was to create room for the appointment of 10 PSs nominated by ODM leader Raila Odinga who is enjoying the trappings of power under the broad-based government arrangement.

The former DP further alleged that Raila who recently signed an MOU with President Ruto listing 10 action points their new partnership must achieve is demanding another two Cabinet Secretary (CS) slots apart from five that he already has.

He said they formed government he negotiated for 15 slots for Mt Kenya region but warned that with him out, President Ruto will kick them out easily because there is no one to defend them and that no one speaks for them.

“Ruto spent the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) at Maasai Mara with Felix Koskei (Head of Public Service) drawing the list of new PSs. He didn’t even go to church. I know it because I have insiders there. He is going to drop at least 10 PSs from Mt Kenya to accommodate Raila Odinga’s demand for 15 slots,’ said Gachagua.

Gachagua said some 6 National Assembly Committee seats and more in the Senate were taken from Mt Kenya legislators allied to him and given to other regions.

“If Ruto is not fighting our community, why wouldn’t he have given the slots back to Mt Kenya MPs in his camp, the kunda ngûtûme (sidekicks) who praise and worship him all the time,” Gachagua asked.

Gachagua said during the campaigns, Ruto promised hustlers that NHIF contributions would be lowered from Ksh500 to Ksh300 and the government would pay for those unable to.

“All those promises changed when Ruto assumed office and introduced SHA, which is a business enterprise to syphon public funds. It was allocated Ksh104 billion with no tendering to determine if there could be a lower offer. The poor people are now shouldering the burden and that’s why SHA not working,” said Gachagua.

He claimed Ruto didn’t like him but only wanted to use him to help him become president and decided to make me his deputy after he successfully brought the Mt Kenya region to his side.

Gachagua who was speaking at Kameme FM in the morning said Ruto did not like him in his government and that is why MPs were bribed to impeach him.
