Prominent Nairobi business lady Agnes Kagure says private sector can create millions of jobs with a conducive government collaboration

Prominent Nairobi business lady and gubernatorial aspirant says with a conducive government-private sector collaboration, the private sector can create millions of jobs.

Speaking when she joined ODM leader Raila Odinga in his Nanyuki trip on Sunday, Kagure said the private sector can create millions of employment opportunities that will have a big impact on people’s livelihoods and the economy.

“With a conducive government-private sector collaboration, the private sector can rise to the occasion and create millions of employment opportunities that will have a direct impact on people’s livelihoods and on the country’s economy,’’ said Kagure.

She said the business community is keen on working with leaders responsive to the plight of workers across all levels, and those with a sound economic plan that accommodates everyone.

Kagure said she joined Raila alongside other business leaders, in an enthralling business showcase in Laikipia County over the weekend.

She said was happy that even Raila agreed that Kenyan’s innovation magic and sense of industry are unmatched.

Raila was on a two-day tour of Mt Kenya region where he held meetings with business people in Nanyuki and also held a youth forum where discussions centered on how the youth potential could be tapped for their development.

He said he was very impressed by the way the youth in Laikipia laid out their challenges and how they had a comprehensive discussions on solutions.

“That is the sort of Kenya we want. A Kenya of solutions, not excuses, a nation at work and not bureaucracies. We want a working, efficient Kenya,’’ said Raila.

Later on he addressed public rallies in Nanyuki where he said he was happy with the good reception that people had offered him.
