Former US President Barack Obama contracts Covid-19, but says he is feeling well

Former US President Barack Obama says he has contracted Covid-19 but is feeling well and that the former First Lady Michelle has tested negative.

Obama who broke the news on social media said he has been having a scratchy throat for a number of days before he took the test today.

He said having been vaccinated and boosted has helped him not to have serious symptoms and urged people to get vaccinated.

“I just tested positive for COVID. I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.’ said Obama.

He continued, ” It’s a good reminder that, even as cases go down, you should get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already to help prevent more serious symptoms and giving COVID to others.”
